German Shepherd

The German Shepherd dog is also known as an Alsatian and is a breed of large sized working dog that originated in Germany. As part of the Herding group, they were originally developed for herding sheep.

The German Shepherd has the most wonderful qualities of strength and intelligence. Because of their abilities in obedience training, they are often employed in police and military roles in forces around the world. They have a loyal and protective nature and make very good pets to give you love and loyalty whilst protecting your home.

The German Shepherd sports a double coat. The outer coat, which is shed all year round, is close and dense with a thick undercoat. It can take more than an hour to clean your German Shepherd after a wet and muddy walk, due to the thickness and density of their fur, washing and drying is a long chore.
